
Historian, Lecturer, and Collector
Andrew Bramlett is a local historian living in Kennesaw, Georgia. He is a member of the Historic Preservation Commission for the City of Kennesaw. Andrew is involved with the Kennesaw City Cemetery, and recently became a member of the Kennesaw Cemetery Foundation. He volunteers with the Kennesaw Parks & Recreation Dept. and volunteers at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, where he is tour guide on the shuttle bus to the top on the weekends. He is also the Social Media Administrator for the Friends of Kennesaw Mountain and the vice president of the Cobb County Genealogical Society. Lastly, he is the archivist for the Save Acworth History Foundation.
In 2018 he won a Georgia Historical Records Advisory Council award for Local History Advocacy because of his work on presentations he gives about the history of the City of Kennesaw, Kennesaw Mountain, and his Kennesaw City Cemetery Walking Tour.
Andrew has previously served as the Vice President of the Kennesaw Historical Society. He was named the Honorary City Historian for the City of Kennesaw in 2023. Andrew and his father were the 2024 co-citizens of the year for the City of Kennesaw.
Andrew is currently a full-time student at Kennesaw State University, a student assistant in the Department of Museums, Archives, Rare Books, and Libraries, and the president of the school’s history club.

Presentations
Andrew presents a variety of presentations, from local topics to national history.
Articles
Andrew is the author of a variety of articles, mostly focusing on Kennesaw and Georgia history. His articles have been published statewide.

Social Media
Andrew manages two social media sites: A site on world history called Archive of the Past, and a site on Georgia history called Peach State Past.





Exhibits
For his social media sites, Andrew has created several digital exhibits, some of which use his items from his personal collection.
Collections and Reading
Andrew is a collector of books, postcards, and photographs with a focus on Georgia and American history. He is also an avid reader of non-fiction books.

Book Collection
The oldest item in Andrew’s library dates to 1493, but most items come from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Image Collection
His image collection encompasses all of world history, but focuses on Georgia and the United States.

Books Read
This list has all of the non-fiction books Andrew has read, covering everything from the Roosevelts to the history of paper.
